hello!

I'm

Maxine!

I'm a UX Researcher based in Toronto, and I'm dedicated to transforming real stories into meaningful human-centered experiences.

I'm a recent graduate from the University of Toronto where I pursued a Bachelor of Information, specializing in UX Design.

I'm currently a Design Research Team Lead at the Innovation Hub.

How

did

I

get

here

It all started at the University of Toronto (UofT), where I began my undergraduate journey in computer science. I loved the coding, but the logic wasn't speaking to me. I decided to switch gears to urban studies and psychology. Here, I enjoyed learning about human behaviour and how people interact with spaces. Still, it felt like pieces were missing from the puzzle.

ii

Then came the pandemic, where I reflected on the big question: What do I want to do with my life? That’s when I discovered UX design, and it all made sense—my journey had been gathering the pieces of my puzzle, and this was the moment they finally fit together.

iii

Blending my interests in creativity, psychology, and technology, I pursued a Bachelor of Information at UofT. During this time, I worked as a design researcher at UofT’s Innovation Hub and won second place in my first ever design-a-thon!

iv

Through my rollercoaster of a journey, I discovered that user research is where my purpose and passion intersect. My curiosity and empathy perfectly align with the principles of human-centered design. I'm driven by the commitment to truly understanding people, so I can help create solutions that are not only meaningful, but transformative.
